The first week went o.k., but it’s obvious the only thing I’m going to be able to do during a work day is work, drive, eat and sleep. The weekend is barely going to be enough to recover, do my college classes, and get ready for the next work week. The job itself is pretty easy though. Nicest factory I’ve worked in, easiest factory job I’ve done. The company expands and expands, so job security and opportunities to move up are there, as long as I don’t screw it up. However, if it snows as much this winter as it did last winter, the odds of failure are high. I need a backup plan. I wish it were the comic. It was showing a lot of promise in June and July –

July had 13,028 unique views. A comic may need 100 times that number to support the creator, I don’t know; but – it’s like, 13,028 people can’t be wrong. If I’m entertaining 13,028 people a month, there should be 130,000 I can entertain. If July’s traffic is roughly ten times bigger than April’s, then 130,000 seems reachable. If the numbers had continued to climb, I might have been there by November. Would that be enough to support a creator? At those numbers, an average of 3 cents per month of support from each reader would replace my current job.

Wouldn’t it make everyone happier if I could just do the damn comic?

I don’t want to complain about my current employer, whose only fault is being as far away as I could possibly go (and it would be stupid of me to try to do this, if there were other options) – but current employer was the least-est of possible good timelines I could have went down this summer. I’m not going to put them in the “bad timeline” category, they have a lot to offer – but bad weather could be all it takes to make that go away. And wouldn’t we all rather have new comic pages? Why couldn’t the universe have done that one? It looked like it was going to.
